How to Write a Business Profile People Actually Read

Ananya Sen·10 Sep 2026·6 min read

A business profile is often the first impression someone has of your organisation. Most profiles are too vague, too long, or too focused on internal language that means nothing to an outsider.

Start with the problem you solve — not your history. Visitors want to know if you can help them before they care about when you were founded.

Describe who you serve specifically. "We work with small businesses" is weaker than "We work with independent retailers looking to move into online sales." The more specific you are, the more relevant you become to the right people.

Close with a clear next step. What should someone do if they are interested? Contact you? Visit a page? Book a call? Make it obvious.
